Ladd Nolen and his brother, Larry Nolen, Jr., have been professional musicians for over 35 years. They have played with or opened shows for Willie Nelson, Ray Price, Restless Heart, Asleep at the Wheel, T. Graham Brown, Neal McCoy, Travis Tritt, Earl Thomas Connally, Larry Nolen & the Bandits, Kenny Dale, Johnny Bush, John Anderson, Mike Lord, Billy Mata, The Texas Top Hands, Dottsy, Janie Fricke, The Cofield Brothers, Tracy Lawrence, Craig Dillingham, Wade Jacoby, Rick Carver, Steve Wariner and many others. Ladd and Larry Jr. were founding members of The Nolen Brothers Band and the rock-n-roll band, Carousel. Ladd is currently focusing on studio work, while Larry plays with The Almost Patsy Cline Band. They both perform regularly at conventions, special events, private parties, various clubs and dance halls.
Ladd and Larry are accomplished studio musicians and have been featured on many artists’ recordings, They both play guitar, 5-string bass guitar, upright bass, steel guitar, baritone guitar, drums, ukulele, and mandolin in addition to being outstanding vocalists and song writers. They have been around professional music and professional recording all their lives. Their father, Larry Nolen, Sr., has owned his own Bandit Recording Studio for over 20 years. Larry Sr. has made hundreds of recordings in some of the finest studios in the world such as Columbia, Porter Wagner’s Fireside Studio and many others. Among his hit recordings are “I Need You Now”, “Ramblin’ Rose”, “Please Talk To My Heart”, “Lonesome Cabaret”, “This is Where the Lady That I Love Lives” and “Dark Eyed Cajun Queen.” Larry has recently released a new CD. “Hangovers Sure Hang On”.
